Premier Motorsport Championship promoter Speed Works Events has today confirmed that each of its three Rush Hour races to be held during the upcoming season will be televised on Three’s CRC Motorsport show.

“We’re really excited with the interest so far – we’re looking for the fastest cars in the country to compete in the Rush Hour feature race at three of our events across the summer” explained Speed Works’ managing director Geoff Short.

“The Rush Hour concept will bring new cars to our events plus add value for competitors taking part in the BNT V8s, Pirelli Porsche, GTRNZ and OSCA categories with an additional race.  We have confirmed a deal to screen the races on Three’s CRC Motorsport with delayed coverage.

With television presence and the prospect of the country’s fastest race cars going head to head, Rush Hour is proving to be a popular talking point amongst competitors. Various teams are signalling their intention to enter and Speed Works expect to see Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari, Audi and a number of sports car brands represented.

“It’s fair to say it has struck a chord with race competitors out there and we are looking at it very closely to see how we can maximise the interest. We see this as being a really exciting race format which will include a pit stop to equalise the field.  It’s going to be non-stop action from race start to finish,” added Short.

Rush Hour will be a one hour feature race on the Saturday of the Speed Works Events at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park, Taupo (2 Dec 2017), Mike Pero Motorsport Park, Christchurch (13 Jan 2018) and Hampton Downs (10 March 2018).
